The Senior Project Fresh program is aimed at helping older adults eat healthier as they age.
The program provides participants free nutrition education and $25 in coupons that can be exchanged for fresh fruits, vegetables and other healthy foods sold at the Farmers Market.
Residents who are aged 60 or older with a total household income of $27,861 or less for an individual, or $37,814 for a couple, are eligible to apply for the program.
Residents who are aged 55 or older who belong to a Michigan federally recognized tribe or urban tribal group are also eligible.
Applicants must live in the county where coupons are obtained. The program runs from May 1 to October 31 each year.

Neighborhood House provides financial assistance to local needy families and individuals who need help with their rent as well as heating, electric and water bills. It can also provide referrals to other agencies and resources in the area that can help individuals and families in need, acting as a safety net as other governmental and social resources that provide help have become less available.
The Food Pantry gratefully accepts donations from the community in drop boxes just inside the front doors of both Farmington and Farmington Hills city halls.
If you need further information regarding a specific service Neighborhood House provides, or are interested in scheduling a time to visit for a consultation, please call 248-871-2848 or send an e-mail to ffhneighborhoodhouse@gmail.com. Consultations are by appointment only.
