Most of our farmers and growers who come to serve the Farmington community frame a radius of more than 65 miles. Two come from further afield – from the state's west coast and even the Upper Peninsula. Most of them come from places you may have never heard of – Riga, Ray, Britton, Coloma, Hessel – and some places you have – Huntington Woods, Jackson, Manchester, even Detroit. The soils differ, the flavors are unique but the passion is the same: to be independent Michigan farmers who hold the land close to their hearts and their families closer. And in the end they help build communities of all kinds.
So let's recognize our Michigan farms and farmers as state treasures that make coming to market something special.
