Honey and a queen bee

The July 9 POP! Club was a buzzing good time! We sampled golden honey donated by the Market's Triple B Honey, which means it was made by bees who harvest nectar in southeast Michigan. Each participant also got a kit to make a bee watering station.

Then we buzzed over to a portable hive with glass sides so we could see the worker bees in constant motion and, if we were lucky, the queen herself. A fun day! Thank you, Triple B, for donating the honey, bringing the hive and sharing your amazing knowledge of bees and honey.

Here is the information we shared, including recipes and a look at honey's nutrition. The next POP! Club meeting, on August 13, will be all about corn. See you then!
