5/25/2019 - Memorial Day Weekend Market

Start your holiday weekend at the Farmers Market.  Find bedding plants, vegetable plants, herbs, annual and perennials!   MSU Master Gardeners have all the answers to those thorny planting questions.  Michigan asparagus is prime pickins' so don't miss out!  

6/1/2019 - Art on the Grand Market

Art on the Grand will feature local and national artists along Grand River Avenue.  The Market will nestle up alongside in its cozy home at the Sundquist Pavilion as usual, featuring "God's Art!" Shop for beautiful flowers, herbs, bedding plants, hanging baskets, porch pots, produce and more! 

6/8/2019 - National Children's Day and first POP! Club meeting

Join us in a day dedicated to children! Headlining the events is the return of our Kids' POP! Club, a program designed to teach children aged 4 to 12 about nutrition and where their food comes from. Introduced last year, POP! - or Power of Produce - encourages kids to sample fresh fruit and vegetables, get to know the farmers who grew the food and make smart choices in choosing their own produce. There are also crafts and a game or two along the way. In addition, the Farmington Community Library will handle Little Sprouts, MSU's Robin Danto will present her own kids activity and special guest Peter Schreimer, America's Nature Guy, will make an appearance. So bring the kids and have fun with your food!

6/15/2019 - 5th annual Farmers Market Fit as a Fiddle Health Awareness Fair

This week’s market makes way for the 5th annual Farmers Market “Fit as a Fiddle” Health Awareness Fair sponsored by Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills. The market will be bustling as usual but with a little extra spring in its step as we start the day with the third annual 5k Rooster Run. City Councilmember Sara Bowman will lead this casual open meet-up group out at 9 a.m. Following the runners will be a 1-mile easy-paced morning walk through surrounding neighborhoods. Both are free, and no registration is required. Plus, renowned violinist Anthony Marchese lights up the market with his scintillating bow and fiddle. Beaumont Health will be on site with free screenings.


6/22/2019 - 6th Annual Strawberry Shortcake Day

This annual market tradition features farm-fresh Michigan strawberries, freshly baked biscuits and housemade creme freche from the farm kitchens of Kapnick Orchards. A generous serving is $3 each or 2 for $5 delivered directly to you on the south bricks of the market till we run out. And, by the way, we always run out ...

7/6/2019 - All-American Market

Are you around town for the weekend? Stay-cationing? Stop by the Farmers Market for your grilling needs or for the special table gift if visiting with friends and family. Grab a market fresh grillin' dog from the American Legion Grille team while the kids have fun with the Chamberlin Petting Zoo. And it's a good time to check in with the Michigan Master Gardeners to make sure your garden is growing well.

7/13/2019 - POP! Goes the Market

It's the second meeting of the Market's Kids' POP! Club. There will be more tastings, another scavenger hunt and a hands-on approach to fresh food. Come play with your food while you learn a thing or two (or three or four) about fruits and vegetables.

8/10/2019 - National Farmers Market Week, POP! Club, 13th Annual Elks Corn Roast

POP! Club returns for its second meeting of the summer, with the emphasis on getting to know our farmers during National Farmers Market Week.

For their part, our farmers donate fresh-picked Michigan sweet corn to the Farmington Elks for their annual charity corn roast. We call it the "buc-an-ear" corn roast - for $1 you get a fresh-roasted ear of corn buttered and seasoned your way!  Arrggggh!  This is good time and a great tradition, 10 a.m. -2 p.m.

"It's the most wonderful time of the year..." applies here!  So much bounty from the fields- root vegetables, tomatoes, corn, cole crops coming, a full assortment of greens along with a new rotation of sweet corn...which just gets better as the season goes on!  Did we forget to say blackberries, peaches & apples?  Shop for artisanal foods from sauces to ciders, while you munch a fresh-made, hot-in-your-hand Petey's Donut.

9/14/2019 - Italian American Market and POP! Club

Downtown Farmington is transported to Italy as we celebrate Italian-American Day, thanks to the Italian American League of Livonia and other proud Italian sponsors. Come enjoy Italian customs, foods and more at our bel mercato.  As the Amici band entertains with Italian classics, enjoy a glass of wine or beer at the market's Bella Cantina. Our POP! Club also joins in the fun with special Italian produce samplings. A fun market for the entire family!


9/21/2019 - The Market of the Harvest Moon and Family Day

Fall begins and brings with it the Market of the Harvest Moon, our biggest market of the year! Things are changing...even the light of day as it filter through the trees seems different. Time to start thinking of cole crops - brussel sprouts, cabbage and hearty stock. Fall squashes will be on the march to market along with everybody;'s favorite, pumpkins...
We also celebrate the family with a day of special activities, including a bounce house, face painter, pancake breakfast and more.

Witamy! Welcome to our fourth annual Polish American Day at the Market, featuring made-to-order pierogi, polish sausage, potato pancakes, cabbage soup and more including authentic baked goods and treats. Savor the food while you enjoy Piwo and authentic polish beer specially brewed by the Farmington Brewery. With live music by the Kielbasa Kings and costumed dancers. it doesn't get more authentic than this. Come polka in downtown Farmington!

Not many weeks remain for you to stroll through the aisles of the Farmers Market. The nip in the air and the profusion of such fall produce as pumpkins and squashes tell you that our 26th season is winding down. These are precious days at the Market; don't miss them!

It's our pentultimate market, one tinged with a seasonal chill but warmed by the appreciation of all the effort that goes into pulling together this amazing community. That's why we call this Saturday Vendor Appreciation Day. Come show our farmers and artisans what they've meant to the market this summer.

10/26/2019 - The Haunted Market and special POP! Party

The Market's grand finale of special events, the annual Haunted Market is a trick or treat delight, and the whole town gets in on the fun. Come to Market to find pumpkin decorating, trick or treating at surrounding stores and scary market vendors. And the POP! people will bring their own kind of tricks, with gobs of pumpkin guts, and treats. Come ... if you dare ...
