The market’s sizzling summer chef series “Cookin’ at the Market” returns with metro area chefs who bring culinary taste sensations to our rolling cooktop located on the south bricks of our market plaza. Our partner in culinary craftsmanship, edible WOW (Wayne Oakland Washtenaw) magazine, exceeds and excels at co-joining the growing local food movement with a hand-picked cross-section of metro Detroit’s finest chefs.
In 2019, we are proud to add Michigan’s own Calder Dairy to our growing group of businesses who share the mantra of “buying local is buying fresh.” Located in Carleton, the Calder family dairy farm has been steadfast in serving the metro area since 1946. For more on Calder, click here.
The season opened May 18 with chef Jeff Rose of C.A.Y.A. Smokehouse Grill in Wolverine Lake preparing a salad of chopped cucumbers, sliced cherry tomatoes, finely chopped red onion and bleu cheese dressed with fresh basil pesto. Chef Rose served each sample with chunks of smoked salmon from his restaurant.
