Mission Statement

The Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market is an outdoor seasonal weekly market operated by the City of Farmington for the enjoyment of the citizens of Farmington and surrounding communities. The market is located in downtown Farmington at the Walter E. Sundquist Pavilion in Riley Park and operates Saturdays, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, May through October.  Please feel welcome to discover and enjoy the many treasures of the Farmington community. 

The Mission of the Market:

To Provide: A colorful, festive gathering place for the utilization and enjoyment of the
citizens of Farmington and surrounding communities by enhancing the downtown business district with access to a wide variety of fresh, local, in-season Michigan grown farm produce, value-added prepared foods and quality artisan originals.

To Welcome: Be open and friendly to community organizations and charitable interest
groups encouraging visible displays and hands on participation working in conjunction with the "Friends of the Market" volunteers.

To Inspire: Encourage local flair with artisan originals, entertainment and live
demonstrations.

To Promote Local Commerce: Visibly demonstrate community core values and the civic brand identity promoting downtown Farmington as a destination sense of place where
people can regularly come together in a family friendly atmosphere enhancing the
small-town charm of downtown Farmington and its locally accessible businesses. 

To Engage: By inspiring volunteerism in support of the market - embracing an open
exchange of community information, educational demonstrations and good living - promoting fitness, nutrition and well-being at home, in the community or out in the garden.
